A software editor and integrator with the capacity to meet all types of logistical needs for companies of all sizes. This is how the company a-SIS, a supplier of services in the logistical domain, defines itself. “We namely offer three types of solutions enabling, on the one hand, the management of logistical platforms (Warehouse Management System) and, on the other hand, the management of transport, and finally the piloting of complex multi-site and multi-country logistical networks (Order Manager System). Our metier consists in meeting the needs of supply chain managers requiring a single partner capable of responding to all issues confronting them and supporting them internationally. We design solutions and also take charge of installing them on our clients’ premises,” explains Evelyne Raynaud, the company’s Development Manager (France and International) and Product Manager.
a-SIS is a French editor that is a subsidiary of the company Savoye, a designer and integrator of warehouse mechanisation and automation solutions, itself a division of the Legris Industries Group. The latter employs 1,360 persons and in 2011 achieved a turnover of 208 million euros, 71 % outside of France. “Thanks to our affiliation with Savoye, we can boast of our uniqueness in being able to equip traditional manual organisations as well as highly mechanised contexts where more sophisticated cutting-edge information systems are needed (such as the Warehouse Control System). This multifaceted offer enables us to target a variety of clients and company sizes, setting us apart from other competitors,” points out Evelyne Raynaud.
“In addition, a-SIS benefits from international positioning,” continues the Manager. “Within the Savoye division, we carry out 23 % of our business in the United States, 70 % in about fifteen European countries, and the remaining 7 % in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, when clients ask us to accompany them outside Europe or the United States.” Also of note is the fact that Eastern European countries and Russia represent burgeoning markets. These destinations represent significant relays of growth in coming years and logically feature in a-SIS’s development objectives. In terms of strategy, the French and Western European market generally lacks dynamism. “Even if we accord a great deal of importance to preserving our market shares on these territories, we are aware that opportunities are to be found further to the east,” sums up Evelyne Raynaud. Development outside Europe and the United States tends to occur through the creation of partnerships with selected companies.
The fact that a-SIS offers comprehensive solutions that can meet all the needs of a manager in charge of a company’s logistical management is a decisive asset. The capacity to support large companies internationally, with the same solutions and quality of service, is another key factor. In the large company segment, a-SIS is confronted by what tends to be a replacement market. In such a context, what clients look for are trustworthy solutions adapted to the challenges of the contemporary world, particularly in terms of transport solutions. “For SMEs and VSEs, ease of integrating products and accessibility in terms of prices are two attractive criteria that we can also highlight,” continues Evelyne Raynaud. “Today, these types of companies represent an equipment market that we target in particular.”
Another lever of growth for the editor is the future of Internet and the soar of e-commerce, which has considerably shaken up distribution modes. “a-SIS, traditionally based on retail activities (preparations of orders made up of a number of articles) in the sectors of office supplies, cosmetics, health, spare parts and mail-order sales, is a player particularly adapted to e-commerce and the entailing evolution of distribution in general,” explains Evelyne Raynaud. This context accounts for the solid positioning of the company, a leader on its market in France, number five editor on the European scale, and number seven on the global scope. Whose endurance is all the more appreciated in the current context of economic crisis.
