The future of the port of Boulogne under examination

CCI Côte d'Opale

Following harsh criticism from the French Minister of Transport, Frédéric Cuvillier, also Mayor of Boulogne-sur-Mer, concerning the management of his town's port, Jean-Marc Puissesseau, President of the CCI Côte d'Opale has chosen not to react.

In the wake of the merger of three Chambers of Commerce in 2010, the CCI Côte d'Opale found itself conferred with the Délégations de Service Public (DSP or Public Service Delegations) of the ports of Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais. As the latter has undergone restructuring, namely the doubling of its perimeter, a new DSP is currently being examined by the Regional Council to determine who will hold the reins of the new structure for the next fifty years. Jean-Marc Puissesseau wishes to respect the confidentiality of the inquiry.
