This is the fruit of cooperation between the CCI of Bordeaux and the Chinese city of Dalian (Liaoning province in the country’s northeast). This is the “first stage of a collaboration that will culminate, at the end of 2012, with the construction by the Dalian Haichang Group of a ‘Bordeaux Wine Village’ grouping together different tools on the one site, namely a large training centre for developing Chinese interest in wine consumption,” indicates the CCI, which specifies that Dalian welcomes 36 million tourists per year. The French Chamber has a business club that, since 2008, has been bringing together SMEs wishing to join forces to tackle China. According to the CCI, China is expected to be ranked number seven for global wine consumption in 2012.
