270 hotels, 206 of which are in France. This is how the figures of B&B Hôtels stand in May 2013. Ever since its birth in 1990, the group has undergone spectacular expansion. This company providing economical hotel accommodation today has establishments in Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, not to mention every part of France. At the end of 2012, its turnover came to 263 million euros. “Our network is indeed expanding, firstly in France, where 1,500 persons work for our brand, but also overseas. As of this year, we have also been open in Morocco,” points out Pascale Roque, the hotel group’s General Manager for France.
Special efforts have been undertaken to meet the satisfaction of business clients who are very important to the network. “These clients pay particular attention to the quality of their sleep. This is why we have invested a great deal in bedding. 60 % of our beds offer new Bultex mattresses. Quilts are available all over the network. We have also decided to work with Drouault, the pillow specialist,” cites Pascale Roque by way of example. Breakfast is another element to which the clientele pays great attention. B&B Hôtels therefore opts for an unlimited buffet formula to guarantee all-round satisfaction.
The group’s business clients are varied, including employees of VSEs as well as major companies, travelling for short or long periods. “We have two particularly attractive offers for these clients. TheE-Club card is specially for frequent travellers who stay regularly at hotels. It offers a set of advantages such as a 10 % discount for every night stayed and advantageous prices with our partners including certain restaurants or car rental dealers. We guarantee holders of this card systematic room availability up to three days before their arrival.
A second card, called the Carte Logée, is aimed at businesses. This is a free programme allowing employees of the client company not to advance their travel expenses,” explains Benoît Lamézec, Sales and Distribution Manager for France.
The exceptional value for money offered by B&B Hôtels is an undeniable strength setting the group apart from its competition. “Bear in mind that our breakfast is available for under 6 euros. The average price for a night’s accommodation throughout the network is 48 euros. Innovation is another key aspect of the chain. We were, for example, the first to offer Wifi for free, in the lobby as well as in the rooms, as we are aware of the importance of easy Internet access, especially for business clients. Our teams are also very attentive and make themselves available to their clients,” indicates Pascale Roque.
The commitment of B&B Hôtels to environmental protection is another essential element of the offer. Since 2008, the network’s establishments have followed this approach on a daily basis, namely through water and waste management, and environmental education of its employees and clients. The recycling of old pillows, the fitting of taps with water-saving systems and the use of low-energy consumption light bulbs are concrete examples of this commitment.
Benoît Lamézec specifies that “bookings can be made flexibly in three different ways. A telephone hotline is available with certain numbers specifically for holders of the E-Club or Logée cards. Accommodation can also be booked by Internet or mobile phones, and of course directly in hotels.” Twenty-four hour access in all of the network’s establishments is part of the hotel’s aim to be easy to use. “For hotels that have closing times, access is possible via external terminals allowing rooms to be reached freely. Clients can thus take advantage of total liberty in their movements,” he continues.
B&B Hôtels is continuing to develop. Around fifteen new establishments are opening their doors in France in 2013, in Paris, Cannes, Limoges, Marseille, Nantes, and Perpignan. “We have already gone over the 50 hotel mark in Germany where the group’s growth is also very strong. Openings are also envisaged in Italy by the end of summer 2013,” announces Pascale Roque.
